Libingan ng mga Bayani

Image
In Fort Bonifacio, Taguig lies one of the most well-known cemeteries in the country, Libingan ng mga Bayani (loosely translated in English as Heroes' Cemetery). Libingan ng mga Bayani  was established in May 1947 as a final resting place for the more than 30,000 brave Filipino soldiers who died fighting during World War II. Eventually, the cemetery became the designated place of burial for former presidents, patriots, National Artists, National Scientists, and more. Given that I went here on All Saints Day, which is a very busy day for Philippine cemeteries, I have not taken a picture of the pylons and the black stone walls, the latter of which are enormous in size.  (All photos taken on 01 November 2016)
